According to Decree No. 5,154/2004, the minimum duration of initial and continuing education or professional qualification courses is 160 hours.

However, some courses may have a longer or shorter workload, depending on the content and objective.

For example, the Introduction to Photography course has a workload of 40 hours, while the Artificial Intelligence course has a workload of 120 hours.

You can check the course load for each course on the Escola do Trabalhador 4.0 registration page.

Are the certificates issued valid nationally or internationally?

Certificates issued by Escola do Trabalhador are valid nationwide, meaning they are recognized throughout Brazil.

They are issued by the University of Brasília, a higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Education.

The certificates are for initial and continuing training or professional qualification, which are forms of professional and technological education that aim to train and improve workers.

According to the Escola do Trabalhador 4.0 website, they can be used to, for example:

  • Prove your professional qualifications
  • Enrich your resume
  • Complete complementary activities in undergraduate or postgraduate courses
  • Participate in public competitions or selection processes that accept this type of certification

However, they are not internationally valid, that is, they are not recognized by other countries.

To do this, a process of equivalence or recognition of certificates would be necessary, which depends on the rules and agreements of each country.

Furthermore, certificates are not equivalent to diplomas from technical or higher education courses, which require a greater number of hours and a more comprehensive curriculum.

Therefore, certificates do not qualify the exercise of regulated professions that require this level of training.

However, courses are important tools for increasing your knowledge and can, in fact, help you stand out in the job market.
