You've probably heard about a recent musical chairs game that took place on Brazilian TV.

It all started with Faustão's departure from Rede Globo, after more than 30 years working at the station. This caused a series of changes in the programming schedule of the Rio de Janeiro station.

Presenter Luciano Huck was “promoted” to presenter of the Sunday show, which was previously hosted by Faustão. This meant that the vacancy on Caldeirão do Huck – now called simply Caldeirão – was filled by presenter Marcos Mion.

And it is about the commotion caused by the hiring of the presenter – who until then was one of Record's main names – that we are going to talk about today!

Given Mion's excitement about this new phase, a very important topic came to the fore in the entertainment world: achieving professional achievements after the age of 40.

Is it possible? Is it worth pursuing this achievement?

Therefore, today's content will address this topic. In this text, we will cover the following topics:

  • Marcos Mion's trajectory and career
  • Marcos Mion's reaction to the hiring
  • The importance of Marcos Mion's search for professional fulfillment
  • Professional success after 40

Marcos Mion's trajectory and career

A name already renowned on Brazilian TV, many people don't even know, but Marcos Mion began his career as an actor in the series Sandy & Júnior, on Rede Globo, in the late 90s.

After this start, in 2001 the presenter moved to MTV, where he was responsible for presenting the programs Supernova and Piores Clipes do Mundo.

Between occasional performances in films and music videos, Mion continued on MTV until 2009, when he signed a contract with Record, debuting as host of the program Legendários, in 2010.

In addition to Legendários, Mion also had a brief stint hosting the program Ídolos, in 2012, and the reality show A Casa, in 2017. After the end of Legendários, Mion was announced as the host of A Fazenda, the channel's main reality show.

After hosting the reality show during seasons 10, 11 and 12, Mion left Record in May 2021, amid strong rumors that Rede Globo was eyeing the presenter to join its team of presenters.

In August of this year, Mion signed a contract with Globo to take over the Caldeirão show on Saturday afternoons, after Luciano Huck left.

Marcos Mion's reaction to the hiring

Amidst the changes and the beginning of this new phase of his career, what caught the attention of all the media was the way the presenter dealt with the hiring.

Always very happy, Mion was extremely fulfilled with this new opportunity.

During a series of interviews and through his social networks, the communicator could not hide the excitement and emotion he was experiencing as the new presenter of the team of the largest broadcaster in the country.

In one of the statements, Mion even joked that he even slept with his employee badge, such was his happiness.

And today, October 21st, when participating in the Mais Você program, Mion was interviewed by presenter Ana Maria Braga and spoke about his appointment.

Mion secured his place as presenter on Saturday afternoons in 2022 – as the initial plan for his hiring was to host the program only until the end of this year and, later, take on other projects at the house.

Mion was very emotional, talking about professional achievement and how magical it is to make dreams come true.

The importance of Marcos Mion's search for professional fulfillment

The way Marcos Mion dealt with this moment in his life served to raise a very important debate: the importance of always seeking professional fulfillment – mainly.

Even though the reality of the presenter is very different from that of most Brazilians, it is always important to talk about professional fulfillment, regardless of your area of expertise.

The way we see our dreams and professional goals may change a little throughout our lives. But the important thing is to always be seeking our professional fulfillment, whatever it may be.

While many people aspire to a certain position in a dream company from the beginning of their professional lives – like Mion, who always dreamed of returning to Globo – others end up finding their dream professional fulfillment only after changing careers.

And both paths are valid. After all, it is through them that you will get to where you dream of.

Professional success after 40

Even though the communicator was already successful – after all, he acquired a solid resume during his time at Record – before being hired by Globo, the visibility of presenting a program in the afternoons of the country's largest broadcaster will certainly take the communicator's career to a new level.

This just shows that, despite ageism – discrimination against people or groups based on age – still present in the job market, it is never too late to dream of success.

Although Mion is young – 42 years old – this age can be difficult for those seeking professional fulfillment. But fortunately this is changing, even if slowly.

As the years go by, that old myth that professionals need to achieve success – like their dream job and salary – is being left behind, giving way to a society that is increasingly aware that success is not necessarily a race, and that each professional has their own time and definition of what professional success is.

And, furthermore, even if looking at it from another perspective – after all, he is a public figure – Mion's achievement serves to show the importance of always having goals and aiming for the much-dreamed-of professional achievement.

Conclusion

Everyone knows that changing careers is not easy.

The important thing is to seek your professional growth, whatever it may be.

You can do like Mion and get that dream job, new opportunities in your field or even change careers and start not only a “new chapter”, but a “new book” in your life.
